About this project
In this project we created the first ‘Meet-O-Theek’ in the Netherlands, which is a place where you can rent measuring instruments and scientific devices to learn more about your own environment and sometimes even to improve this environment. I created the instruction materials for the different devices, communicated with people about the possibilities of the device they rented and was the point of contact for information during ‘Walk-in days and evenings’.

Instruction manuals
Most of the devices required some background information and instructions to be able to use them. The target audience of this project was very wide: it included every citizen of the Groningen region interested in investigating their environment. Although in practice this meant that most users were already interested in science, the instructions still had to appeal to both younger and older generations, different educational backgrounds and different fields of interest. I used a combination of visual instructions with text and I included context for every device, to provide inspiration for potential uses and to show the importance of the measurements.
